How can I bar emails from an individual poster to a group I belong to without being unsubscribed for bouncing?
Q. I find that one poster keeps posting off-topic emails that I do not want to see. I want to remain in the group and receive emails from other posters.
Asked by eagle - Wed Nov 12 14:36:32 2008 - Yahoo! Groups - 1 Answers - Comments

A. If you are the owner or moderator you could put that member on moderation. If you are only a member all you can do is delete them if you are receiving the posts via email.

What should I use to put up posters without damaging the wall or the poster?
Q. Hey! I have a poster that I want to hang up but I do not want it to be damaged in any way. I do not want to frame it. I just don't want holes from pins or the risk of tape tearing it. Ticky Tack doesn't work and I know someone told me there's something that will fit all these scenarios but I can't remember what it's called. So... What's out there that's good for hanging things up? I can't have something that will damage the paint. I'd also like something that could work on wood paneling. Any suggestions? Would poster glue dots/ removable glue dots damage the poster itself? It's made out of that sandy kind of paper, it's not glossy. Which one should I pick? Poster dots or removable dots? They seem to be the same.

How can I get white sticker residue off of a poster without damaging it?
Q. My little sister stuck a sticker to my Green Day poster. I've managed to get the sticker off but some of the sticky white backing stuff has stayed on the poster and it's ugly and annoying. Does anyone know how I can get it off without damaging the poster? Thanks x
Asked by Drops Of Jupiter - Sun Jul 25 09:37:21 2010 - Cleaning & Laundry - 2 Answers - Comments

A. Try the lubricant spray called WD-40. It dissolves sticker glue without harm. It works best if the poster is any type of plastic. If your poster is cardboard or paper, use paint thinner instead.

How to make a stinky vinyl poster smell good?
Q. So I ordered this big vinyl banner thing (a poster basically) and we recieved it the other day and it smells like toxic waste. Lets just say the poster must stay but does anyone have any tips for getting rid of the smell?
Asked by Sam P - Thu May 29 16:19:21 2008 - Other - Home & Garden - 2 Answers - Comments

A. Use some lavender essential oil, some tea tree oil, mixed with warm water (1 quart water, 15 drops of each oil) put in a spray bottle and spray away! The tea tree oil will nuetralize the odor, the lavender will help nuetralize and kill bacteria (that smell comes from something and it might not be a chemical) and it will smell lovely.

A. First, make sure you have permission to do this Second, you can have prints made at a local print shop, or online at kodakgallery.co m, snapfish.com, shutterfly.com, allredsphoto.co m (click on photo enlargements). I have personally used allredsphoto for a long time and they have great prints, high quality on photo paper. kodakgallery is pretty good but the other two have their good batches and bad batches. I do my own printing myself with a professional printer. Jamie Voetsch

How do i make a four poster homemade canopy bed and I live in apartments. So i can't drill any holes.?
Q. How do i make a four poster homemade canopy bed and I live in apartments. So i can't drill any holes or use a staple gun. I live in apartments so i can't drill holes, use nails, etc.
Asked by Niki - Sat Jul 24 13:44:21 2010 - Do It Yourself (DIY) - 2 Answers - Comments

A. You can drill holes in your own materials. Get the lumber needed to make a frame that will go just outside the current bedposts. The frame should have 2 sides, and 2 cross pieces, one at the top, and one about the same height as the side rail of the bed. You'll need 4 frames (top, bottom, and 2 sides) Once the frames are built, simply place them at the appropriate spots and screw the sides together. You can make it just about anyway you like, provided there's enough room below the ceiling, etc... You can search online for design ideas.

How Do I make a school poster for The Mermaid Chair?
Q. My teacher assigned us summer reading and we have to do a presentation for it. I chose to do a poster and use index cards for the 3-5 minutes presentation. The problem is I am completely stumped on how to make the poster. Can anyone help me with tips and ideas on how to make it? Any ideas on what I should talk about?
Asked by Magic Doors - Sun Aug 31 13:57:41 2008 - Other - Education - 1 Answers - Comments

A. Last year, for summer reading that's what I had to do too! I have never read The Mermaid Chair, so I don't know the characters or anything about it. But I recommend that you draw a picture of the main character, and something important from the book, like an even, or another character. Then Write the title of the book at the top of the page. And for the oral presentation, you should cut to the chase but still include facts and details from the story. Set a goal question, on what question you want to answer. And make sure you answer it clearly, and make it (the book) understandable for others, on what you're trying to say. Be creative with the poster and use markers, sparkles, and other utensils. Hope I helped!

What is the best way to spray mount a poster on foamcore?
Q. Its a 20x24 poster. Just wondering if there was a good way to approach spraying it and stuff without messing it up because I only have one poster and cost $20 to print. Thanks all.
Asked by MrRogers - Thu Oct 25 14:20:45 2007 - Photography - 5 Answers - 1 Comments

A. I used to like dry-mount tissue a lot better than spray adhesive, but I have no idea if that's still sold anymore. Haven't seen it in a while. Anyway, you're going to have to take your time and be very, very careful. But you knew that already. :D Okay, for starters I would use a larger piece of foamcore than the poster, so that if you end up going crooked, it won't be a poster-killing disaster. You can trim the foamcore to size after you've gotten the whole thing glued down. Roll your poster up loosely with the blank side facing out. Spray the foamcore with the adhesive. Let it set up for about a minute. Then take the rolled poster, find the end edge of the paper, and line that up with one end of the foamcore. Pay careful attention to… [cont.]

I would like to sell this poster but I would like to protect my idea because it's kind of easy to be copied. The name of this poster is very descriptive, should I trademark the name. I already own a bunch of different domains in relation to this product. Thank you.

What is the correct way to put a poster on a wall?
Q. I'm thinking about buying this poster. It's really nice, and I don't want to ruin it. I have some poster that I put up with tape and thumbtacks but they suck. A lot. So is there anyway I can put a poster on a wall without screwing it up?
Asked by Vince V - Mon Jan 28 19:33:35 2008 - Decorating & Remodeling - 2 Answers - Comments

A. Yes, frame it. Pick up a frame at Wal-Mart or K-Mart ( whichever you have in your area) that goes with the " decor" of the room it's going to hang in. The hanger is already attached to the frame. All you have to do is put it in the frame and put a nail/ screw in the wall to hang it from.

What are some poster ideas and slogans for an announcement reporter?
Q. I am running for announcement reporter at school. The announcement reporter gives announcements over the intercom. I need a slogan and/or poster ideas so I can campaign. Is there something I could do that would be like a tv show (i Carly or something?) If not a slogan just an idea to do for posters would work. any help would be great! Thanks!
Asked by anonymous - Fri Sep 10 21:23:10 2010 - Homework Help - 1 Answers - Comments

A. You could find some weird or funny news story on the internet, then read that story over the intercom as part of your report. As far as the campaign goes, just look for some example stories or something. In high school, our student council president read the announcements every morning, and he did the Anchorman "You stay classy San Fransisco" line, replacing "San Fransisco" with the name of our high school. It was just a quick little thing that he copied from a movie, but it was still funny in context. After being elected, it may also funny to occasionally misread the announcements, when you find it appropriate. This could lead to your impeachment if over used, so I don't recommend doing it too frequently!

What is a good poster idea for Islamic contributions of literature?
Q. In history we have to make a poster on contributions of Islams, and first of all I need a poster design, like it can't just be a regular poster it has to have some kind of special design. Then also what are some islamic contributions of literature?
Asked by Jane B. - Mon Oct 4 23:06:46 2010 - History - 1 Answers - Comments

A. 'One Thousand and one nights'. I'd go with a movie poster type look, you could feature a magic flying carpet, a genie, a man with a turban on his head and a curved sword, a young woman in a harem costume with see through veil across her face, that sort of thing. The stories of Aladdin and the lamp with the genie, flying carpets, Sinbad the sailor, Ali Baba and the 40 thieves are all from this collection of tales. The poster should have a floral border like they use in islamic art. An example here: Of course yours wouldn't fill up so much of the page.

A. i would make a list of a ton of words that might describe oprah. or find some of her really memorable quotes. then on your poster use all of your words, phrases, and sentences to form the shape of a giant "O" like her magazine. or just spell out "oprah." or whatever.
